The Public Services Department (PSD) in Ras Al Khaimah announced that more than 20,000 vehicles mounted Jebel Jais during the Eid Al Adha holiday.
Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of the PSD, said, “The increasing turnout of visitors to Jebel Jais throughout the year motivates us to continue developing the services provided by raising the efficiency of the infrastructure for all the rest areas, in terms of illumination, restaurants and others.”
He further pointed out that there are more tourism projects being carried out to contribute to fostering the domestic tourism.
In the meantime, the procedures for preserving the environment in these areas are strict by deploying night patrols “Raqib” to ensure that the visitors are committing to environmental laws, Al Hammadi added.
“The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah witnessed during Eid Al Adha holiday a great turnout by families for the natural areas, where about 4,000 visitors visited Saqr Park with a full abidance by the preventive measures in force to curb the spread of COVID-19,” he added.
The park includes entertainment, education and sports facilities, along with the first ever skateboarding area within a public park in the UAE on an area of 620 square metres. In addition, it includes a viewing platform that allows a comprehensive view of the park areas and the waterfall.
The PSD is also carrying a project to raise the capacity of car parks lots inside and outside the park to 1,700 parking spaces.
