Commenting on the operation, El Salvador Defence Minister René Francis Merino Monroy tweeted that the drugs were transported by two from Ecuador and one from Columbia.
Destined to Guatemala, the shipment was transported on a boat that was intercepted at 575 kilometres to the south of the port of Acajutla on the western coast of El Salvador.
The seizure of the shipment is evidence on El Salvador’s commitment towards the international community, Monroy said.
