The satellite, which was made by the EgSA, is a contribution from Egypt to the success of the training efforts, to help the trained engineers continue practical application, after returning to their countries
The EgSA said on Monday that it had hosted the CEOs of African space agencies for the five African countries participating in the African Development Satellite Initiative (Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Sudan and Uganda), at the opening of the training course for 17 engineers and specialists.
The EgSA added that El Koosy received CEOs and representatives of African space agencies, including specialized engineers and trainees from the human resources and sciences sector in the African Union, for the five African countries. This was after they had received theoretical and practical training on space technology and satellites, for two consecutive weeks at the EgSA's headquarters.
Dr. Mohamed El Koosy stressed the need for concerted efforts by all countries for the success of the African Development Satellite Initiative, pointing out that the knowledge of space technology requires expertise and long-term cooperation. This can be achieved through cooperation among African countries on space projects that have a positive impact on their economies and sustainable development.
