A man drowned in the Nile near the El Ayyat City on Saturday while trying to rescue his daughter. They both drowned and strenuous efforts are being exerted to pick up their bodies.
The operations room in Al Giza received a report that a man and his daughter drowned in the Nile near El Ayyat City.
Investigators rushed to the scene and rescue workers were searching for their bodies.
Investigations showed that the father identified as HA was trying to rescue his daughter, 14, when he lost control, fell on the river and drowned.
He could neither rescue his daughter nor get out of the river because he was not a good swimmer.
Al the necessary legal measures were taken and search for the bodies is under way.
