Abu Dhabi Police warned young people to refrain from modifying their vehicles that result in generating loud noise, which disturbs the people and the entire neighbourhood.
The police said that it recorded 770 violations, which involves driving a vehicle that causes noise.
The police said the violations were recorded during the first half of 2021.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that the noise in the vehicle causes a state of panic, tension and nervousness among other motorists, road users and residents of neighbourhoods where noisy cars pass, especially children and the elderly.
The police called on the public to report vehicles that makes a racket in residential neighborhoods by calling 999 at the Command and Control Center and stressed that they will not tolerate drivers who make such noises from their vehicles.
The necessary legal measures will be taken against them.
The Article 20 of the Traffic Law would be applied. The law states that driving a vehicle that causes noise with a fine of Dhs2,000 and 12 black points.
The Abu Dhabi Police have also issued fines for 5,177 motorists during the first half of the year for hiding their licence plates, for fear of getting caught.

The motorists have been using bicycles, or other items to hide their number plates, in a way that is impossible to monitor their data.
The Abu Dhabi Police warned the public to stay away from such malpractices and announced a fine of up to Dhs400 if the plates lack clarity.
They also emphasised the keenness to intensify traffic control and take legal measures on violations of any vehicle that does not comply with the clarification of numbers in accordance with the Federal Traffic Law.
