His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah allocated Dhs100 million to develop several roads in Al Dhaid City.
These include expansion of Martyr Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Huwaiden Street and Weshah Street into 3-lane streets with a service in both directions and development and expansion of Sheikh Rashhid Bin Salem Bin Fadhel into a 3-lane street.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Sultan approved the site of Al Dhaid City Slaughterhouse, which is located near the Vegetables Market. Work in the slaughterhouse will be completed within a year.
This was announced by Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Public Works, via the Direct Line Programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV.

There will be new projects every 6 or 8 months: Sultan
Sheikh Sultan approved the Al Dhaid City Slaughterhouse based on Sharjah City’s experience in Sharjah Livestock Market and the successful experience of the Sajaa livestock and cattle market where as many as 8,000 sheep were slaughtered during the Eid Al Adha.
Sheikh Sultan approved on Sunday a residential land settlement project in Al-Shanouf district, consisting of 13 residential areas at a total cost of Dhs65 million.
Sheikh Sultan affirmed that development work is continuing in all cities of Sharjah, adding that development projects follow careful and extensive study for these projects to match the nature of each city. He explained that 2022 is the year of Kalba and next will come Al Dhaid.
In a phone interview on the Direct Line programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV, Sheikh Sultan said, “All the development projects that we see in the cities of Sharjah did not come on a spur of the moment or by chance but after lengthy planning and discussion. Based on this, the best and most appropriate project is chosen as per the nature of each area and its inhabitants.”
“The coming period will witness the opening of many new projects every 6 or 8 months. All government buildings in Kalba will be developed in the area starting from the co-operative society building to the flag. Hence, the university building will be expanded, and so will all other buildings.”
