Kerala government has announced an ex gratia payment of Rs25,000 (Dhs1,250) to the unwed daughters of expatriates, who die from COVID-19.
Salin Mankuzhy, an official with the Norka-ROOTS, the state’s agency for the welfare of the non-resident Keralites, said the daughters of the returnees will also get the relief.
All of them can apply for the one-time relief on the website www.norkaroots.org, irrespective of their financial status.
They need to produce a copy of the victim’s passport and visa, a death certificate indicating the cause of the fatality and lab reports confirming the disease.
Those who are aged above 18 need to submit a certificate from the village officer stating that they are unwed along with details of their bank account and identity proof.
