In a scene similar to Hollywood action films, the image of a woman dangling out of a speeding car while carrying a Kalashnikov assault rifle was recorded during an illegal car race in California, according to local media.
San Francisco Police believe that she was part of an illegal stunt, however she would be charged if caught.
The media quoted the San Francisco Police, who published the pictures of the "Kalashnikov Woman," that the participants in the race were involved in drug cases, stressing that the picture was taken by one of the participants in an event that took place on July 11.
"Because the investigation has not yet been completed, we cannot comment further," a San Francisco police spokesman said.
He noted that he could not comment on whether there had been any arrests, or whether the woman had fired from her AK-47.
While the police did not mention the name of the woman who was carrying the Kalashnikov, as the incident is still under investigation, they only said they were able to find the car involved in the incident and confiscate it, and published a picture showing the moment the car was confiscated and towed.
It is a crime to own an assault rifle in California.
