The brightest and the quickest students of the UAE displayed their extraordinary mathematical skills with perfection online, in a national level UCMAS competition concluded recently.
They exhibited their exceptional talent of solving 200 mathematical sums in just eight minutes, using abacus as well as their mental abilities. Like every year, this year too, the UCMAS National Competition 2021, concluded recently, albeit online.
A total of 226 students received trophies in multiple categories, while 22 students from Impact Talent Centre, Oudh Metha, had participated in this competition, whereas ten students emerged as winners in different categories.
Aarav Jain of Impact Talent Centre emerged grand champion and champion in Higher B category. It was the first online completion organised by UCMAS UAE. Swaroop Anand, director UCMAS UAE, distributed the trophies to the winners and congratulated them on their performance.
Reema Nair of Impact Talent Cantre, sharing her experience with Gulf Today said, “It was amazing to see these small kids aiming for the best. They all worked hard for the competition. UCMAS provided them an opportunity where they got to hone their mathematical skills and compete with the best and the brightest.”
“These students are too young. So I always tell them either you win or learn. There is nothing called losing. To me the process of participation and preparation for the competition is very important, she added. I congratulate all my students for their hard work, Reema quipped.
UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System) is the world’s largest and most successful skill development programme for children between the ages of 6 and 13. Operational in over 80 countries, UCMAS has trained more than a million students worldwide and over 25,000 students across 36 centers in the UAE since its inception in 2003.
