Education Minister Murad Rass on Tuesday asked teachers working at private and public schools in the eastern Punjab province to get vaccinated against the coronavirus by Aug. 22 to prevent school closures.
The education minister said if any teachers are found unvaccinated after that date, the authorities will close the school where they teach. Rass warned that we will also take disciplinary action after finding out that any staff member is not vaccinated.
Only vaccinated teachers and staff members would be allowed to enter the school premises after the Aug,22 deadline, Rass said.
Earlier, the Punjab Education Department had ordered teachers, administration and other staff members, of all public and private schools, to get vaccinated against coronavirus by Aug.21.
