The accidents took place as there was not enough distance between vehicles, and the errant motorists had jumped the red light, Col. Suwaidan added.

He explained that the first accident occurred on Monday morning on the Financial Centre Street opposite the Dubai Mall, where a Toyota Land Cruiser collided with a minibus. Preliminary information indicated that failing to leave enough distance between the two vehicles was the main reason behind the collision, which led to moderate injuries to the minibus driver, Col. Suwaidan added.
He continued, “The second accident also happened on Monday morning between two vehicles on Sheikh Zayed Road in the direction of Sharjah, because of jumping the red light. One of the two vehicles flipped over in the middle of the road due to the collision, while three people sustained moderate to minor injuries.”
The third accident took place on Tuesday morning between 6 vehicles. It snarled up traffic on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, which prompted the Dubai Police to divert traffic to an alternative road until the road was cleared of the vehicles.
“Preliminary information indicates that the accident occurred as a result of non-abidance by leaving enough distance between the vehicles, which led to a sequential accident between them,” Col. Suwaidan said.
