The Egyptian police closed a major wedding hall in Alexandria after a bride faced a calamitous incident on her wedding night.
The ceremony ended tragically with dozens of guests hospitalised to receive treatment for suffocation.
The Egyptian vlogger, Aya Osama narrated the details of that night in a live broadcast on Facebook.
She pointed out that the hall manager used gas-operated machines to run the air conditioners to save expenses.
After half an hour, the gas leaked, causing suffocation among the invitees. Some tried to escape, but many lost consciousness.
Aya spent her wedding night receiving oxygen sessions at a hospital.
She said she suffered a lot before that night and that she took eight years to save money to organise a cheerful wedding night, which unfortunately ended on a terrible note after only half an hour.
She said, “Instead of having a wedding night at the marital home, I spent it in a hospital under the artificial breathing systems, because of the amount of gas I inhaled.”
