The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa lit up in the tricolour — saffron, white and green — to celebrate India’s Independence Day on Sunday evening.
The Consulate in Dubai wrote on Twitter, “Jhanda Uncha Rahe Humara… Spectacular projection of tricolor on the Burj Khalifa #IndependenceDayofIndia”
The tricolour was hoisted high and proud on India's 75th Independence Day by Ambassador Pavan Kapoor at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on the occasion of his country's Independence Day, which is celebrated on 15th August.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent similar messages to President Kovind, and to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion.
On the other hand, The Abu Dhabi Global Market also lit up in the colors of sacrifice, peace and growth.
The ambassador inaugurated Lulu hypermarket along with MA Yusuffali at the Forsan Mall in Abu Dhabi.
Consul Uttam Chand joined by EP Johnson, President of Indian Association Sharjah along with other community members for the celebrations of 75th Independence Day.
Consul K. Kalimuthu joined the members of India Social Centre and Indian community members in Ajman for the celebrations.
