Dubai Police get their first female mounted officer

Captain Halima Al Saadi has become the first  female officer to join Dubai Mounted Police.

Her job includes patrolling various areas of the emirates and seizing wanted vehicles, arresting criminals and issuing fines against violators.

Halima says she is extremely proud and happy to be part of the Dubai Mounted Police.

She says she has always been passionate about equines and horse riding which is an amazing experience especially when it’s for the sake of enhancing the safety and security of our beloved emirate.

Dubai Police have been very supportive towards empowering female personnel, says Halima.

“Dubai Police always sought women’s inclusion into police work in terms of security work and community happiness,” adds Halima.

Halima has been with Dubai Police for 23 years.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Dubai Police Academy and a diploma in research and investigation from the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police.

She has also joined many equestrian courses and participated in various national activities and conferences.

Prior to joining Dubai Mounted Police Station, Al Saadi worked at the General Department of Airports Security and worked at the Anti-Cybercrime Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation.  

These job rotations have sharpened her skills and kept her well-informed of different aspects of policing work.
