Turkish Airlines said in a statement that an Afghan woman on an evacuation flight to Britain gave birth to a baby girl early on Saturday morning with the help of flight attendants.
Soman Noori, 26, was in labour during a Turkish Airlines flight from Dubai to Birmingham, and gave birth when the plane was flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet in Kuwaiti airspace.
The statement stated that Nouri and her daughter, who was named "Havva" are in good health.

Havva translates as Eve in English. Turkish Airlines added that the plane, which was carrying Afghan citizens working with the UK in Afghanistan, had landed in Kuwait as a precaution.
The plane continued its flight to England.
Britain’s defense ministry said the final UK evacuation flight for Afghan nationals has left Kabul, as the country’s ambassador announced that it’s "time to close this phase of the operation.”
The UK military said further flights over the weekend would bring home British troops and diplomats, though they may also carry some remaining UK or Afghan civilians.
