The public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, along with nurseries and adult education will receive more than 1.2 million students on Sunday ( Aug.29, 2021), to mark the start of the new school year 2021-2022.

This academic year will feature three modes of learning namely: face-to-face, hybrid and distance learning.
According to the gradual return to schools plan, educational institutions will receive 50 per cent of students during the first week, to reach 100 per cent in the second week.

Fully vaccinated students will get a green pass to enter educational institutions, while those who are not vaccinated must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test to be allowed to enter schools, in order to ensure the stability of the students' health and all who are in the education field.

The number of school days for the new academic year is 186, according to the school calendar approved by the Ministerial Council for Development.
The first semester begins on Sunday (Aug.29), for all learners, and will last about 105 days, including 75 actual studies, and 30 days of weekly holidays.
It is expected that the winter vacation will be during December 12-30 /2021, the spring vacation will start on March 27 and last until April 14, 2022, and the summer vacation will begin at the end of the academic year and continue for 8.2 weeks.
All private schools that do not follow the ministerial curriculum are committed to the minimum number of school days, which is 182 days.
Last Sunday, the teaching, administrative and technical staff resumed duty in all schools across the country. Nearly 25,000 teachers, educators, administrators and technicians are subject to continuous training.
