The UAE government said that the country witnessed a 62 per cent decrease in COVID-19 infections in the month of August as compared to the month of January.
The Health Ministry made the statement during a media briefing on the latest development on coronavirus in the UAE.
The experts said, “Between January and August 2021, we witnessed a big decrease in the percentage of infections. Where the total infection rate of August decreased by 62% in comparison with January.”
The efforts and initiatives have strengthened the ability and measures taken to ensure safe return to a new normal life. This in turn strengthened the trust of UAE’s society in the government & the ability of the concerned entities to control the pandemic.
The UAE adopted flexible strategies to enable quick and proactive decisions, to handle the effects of COVID-19 and reach recovery.
The health sector devoted efforts to research and clinical trials to ensure high vaccine effectiveness.
With the current vaccine distribution rate in the country, the ministry said, “We see optimistic and promising results.
A proof of the community confidence in the health sector’s efforts.”
The ministry said that to ensure everybody’s health and safety, safe vaccinations are provided for everyone and are suitable for different age groups.
The authorities have also reduced the price of PCR test.
The PCR test now cost Dhs50.
This is done in order to promote a culture of regular testing and reduce financial burdens.
