In daring banks’ heist, which has all the ingredients for a perfect Hollywood thriller, robbers escaped law enforcers by strapping hostages to their getaway vehicles.
During raids at two banks on Monday in Brazilian town of Aracatuba robbers used explosives, drones and heavy weapons.
Three people, including a robber, died and at least six were injured as heavily armed gangsters strapped hostages to their cars to make sure that cops don’t fire at them or their vehicle.
The shocking images broadcast by local news channels show hostages strapped to the roofs and hoods of the moving cars.
In order to delay the arrival of police reinforcement at the crime scene, the assailants placed explosives in different parts of the city.
According to local media reports, assailants were wearing bulletproof vests, had rifles, helmets, and looked like soldiers.
Sao Paulo governor Joao Doria, vowed to punish the culprits and ordered a task force of 380 police officers to hunt the gang down.
"The scenes of terror experienced by the population of Aracatuba will not go unpunished," said Doria.
