Majority of Pakistanis have said they believe that Prime Minister Imran Khan government will complete its five-year term, a survey has revealed.
According to Gallup Pakistan, 70 per cent Pakistanis have said they expect to see the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government complete its full term. Of the remaining, 20 per cent believed it would not be able to complete its five-year term, while 11 per cent were not sure.
Among the survey participants, 48 per cent said they are happy with Imran Khan’s three-year performance, whereas 45 per cent said they are unhappy. The remaining seven per cent had “no response.”
The survey said 69 per cent Pakistanis are satisfied with the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Of them, 18 per cent were of the view that the government’s performance has been "very good,” whereas 51 per cent believe it to be "good.”
Among the remaining respondents, 13 per cent characterised the performance as "bad,” nine per cent as "very bad,” four per cent said they "don’t know,” and five per cent had "no response.”
A majority of Pakistanis — 58 per cent - indicated that they are satisfied with the government’s foreign policy efforts. Of these, 18 per cent said the performance has been "very good,” while 40 per cent said it has been "good.”
Among the remaining respondents, 15 per cent felt that the government’s performance in this area has been "bad,” nine per cent were of the view it has been "very bad,” 12 per cent said they "don’t know,” and seven per cent had "no response.”
When it came to the economy, 45 per cent said they were satisfied with where it stands, whereas 44 per cent expressed dissatisfaction. Of the 45 per cent satisfied respondents, 10 per cent said the government’s performance has been "very good,” while 35 per cent said it has been "good.”
Among the 44 per cent dissatisfied respondents, 26 per cent said the performance has been "very bad,” 18 per cent said it has been "bad,” six percent said they "don’t know,” and five per cent had "no response.”
On the government's efforts to prevent corruption, 48 per cent were of the view that the government has been successful, whereas 40 per cent were of the view that it has failed. Of the 48 per cent that were appreciative of the government’s efforts, 14 per cent said they have been "very good” whereas 34 per cent said they have been "good.”
Among the remaining 53 per cent respondents, 21 per cent said the performance has been "bad,” 19 per cent said it has been "very bad,” seven per cent said they "don’t know” and six percent had "no response.”
