Sharjah Police help 12 European, South American victims of fraud, provide air tickets so that they can return home

The Sharjah Police General Headquarters, represented by the Community Police Department have offered assistance to 12 European and South American visitors, who fell victim to fraudulent acts and consequently were stranded and forced to remain without food or shelter.

This came when the central operations room at Sharjah Police received a report that a number gathered in front of a hotel in the emirate.

A police patrol moved to the place and took the necessary measures.

The people were found to have been defrauded by someone who brought them into the country on visit visas after he had deluded them about providing them with job opportunities in the emirate.

Lt. Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Community Police Department at Sharjah Police, said that a team from the department worked in co-operation and co-ordination with strategic partners in charitable societies including Sharjah Charity International and the Emirates Red Crescent to provide housing and meals to the victims during their stay in the emirate.

Airway tickets were also provided to them so that they could return to their respective home countries.
