VIDEO: Jordanian student Abdullah wins Arab Reading Challenge

Abdullah Abu Khalaf from Jordan has been declared winner of the Arab Reading Challenge on Monday.   

Abdullah will get Dhs500,000 cash prize.

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted, “Today, we concluded the Arab Reading Challenge competition in its fifth session… Despite the Corona pandemic, 21 million students participated with us in 96 thousand schools from 52 countries… We congratulate the winners and the student Abdullah Bu Khalaf from Jordan winning the first place, Al-Gharib School from Egypt is the best school, and the Mozah Al-Ghana  from the UAE is the best supervisor out of the 120,000 supervisors…”

Sheikh Mohammed also said, “Reading and knowledge will remain the weapon of generations and the weapon of peoples in their difficult times... and I will remain supportive of every reader… and every young man who seeks knowledge... and every cultural and knowledge project that can help us resume civilization... and the next school year is more beautiful and better…”

Family members congratulate Abdullah on winning the Arab Reading Challenge.

A student from Hungary who loved the history of the Arabs and the Arabic language has mastered it.

Alexander Gozo Voros was named winner of the Arab Reading Challenge at the community level.

The Arab Reading Champion will be selected based on the ability to articulate general knowledge, critical thinking skills, communication and diversity of books selected. The event will also see the announcement of the Outstanding Supervisor and Best School.

The “Best School” takes away Dhs1 million award, while the “Outstanding Supervisor” wins Dhs300,000 cash prize.

The Arab Reading Champion takes home Dhs500,000 cash prize, bringing the total of prizes distributed to Dhs11 million.
