A jaw-dropping footage of a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-17 cargo plane flying between the Brisbane central business district skyscrapers left residents frightened.
The low flying jet was on a practice run.
The incident took place on Sept.25.
Local media reported that the military plane was training for the Sunsuper Riverfire event. The event took place in the Queensland capital on Saturday.
NBC senior executive Mike Sington shared the video and wrote on Twitter, “No, no, no, just no. Royal Australian Air Force jet weaves through the skyscrapers of downtown Brisbane, on purpose. It was a rehearsal for an air show, causing immediate flashbacks to 9/11.”
The plane in training has been identified as Boeing C-17A Globemaster III strategic airlift aircraft.
Local media reported that Brisbanites natives were alerted about the flight beforehand.
Even though some people were still startled by the sight of the huge military aircraft, with some comparing it to the 9/11 terror attacks.

The Australian Air Force released a statement about the rehearsal flight.
The statement read, “Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities, and participating squadrons will operate with a view to minimising the impact on local communities.
“The health and safety of all personnel participating in this event is paramount. All Australian Defence Forces personnel are required to adhere to travel restrictions and state and territory government health advice.
“There are a range of COVID-19 risk mitigation measures in place for this exercise.”
