Expo 2020 Dubai shared a timelapse video of the site from day-one of the construction to its completion on Sunday.
The Expo 2020 Dubai twitter account said, “Eight years of dedication and now we are only 5 days away to welcoming the world. This is our time!”
Expo 2020 Dubai will take place from Oct.1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Expo site on Sunday.
Sheikh Mohammed toured the operations centre with Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al maktoum and reviewed the processes at the centre, which is the base for 134 units of government and private entities in charge of operations, safety and security of the mega event.
Sheikh Mohammed said, “We promised to organise the most exceptional Expo in the history of the event. Our nation’s talents were able to convert this vision into a comprehensive plan for success. Our commitment to excellence makes us an important contributor to shaping the globe’s future.”
The main operations center is managed by a total of 134 units made up of staff of 95 nationalities.
Local, federal, public and private organizations work under the same umbrella to ensure close coordination in the management of the event.
