A massive fire erupted at “Latino” restaurant in the Gleem area of the Alexandria corniche, Egypt, on Wednesday morning.
The Alexandria Civil Defence teams immediately dispatched 12 fire engines to the site to control the fire.
The fire resulted in a major traffic jam in the corniche area.
The authorities said that the fire broke out in the popular neighborhood where restaurants and clubs are located.
Residents said several ambulances were also moved to the site. The authorities said there were no reports of any injuries.
The firefighters controlled the inferno before it could spread to nearby restaurants and clubs.
Videos shared on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from the site.
A cooling process was underway. The police said that forensic experts would investigate the site to determine the cause of the fire.
