The UAE passport rose to the first rank in the world on the passport index prepared by the Canadian consultancy Arton Capital.
The passport allows its holder to enter 152 countries, including 98 countries without a visa, and 54 countries, where visas are obtained online or upon arrival.
“The positive diplomacy of the UAE contributed to strengthening position of its passport,” the Arton said.
Despite the challenges of travel caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE has successfully opened its doors to tourism and commercial activities. It was able to resume operations at international airports, as the Dubai Airports reopened Terminal 1 and Concourse “D” at Dubai International Airport on the 24th of last June, Arton added.
The New Zealand passport ranked second in the world, allowing its holder to enter 146 countries, followed by the Germany, Finland, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea and Australia, which allow its holder to enter 144 countries around the world.
