Asian woman gets 5-year prison term, deportation for drug abuse in Dubai

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian woman to 5 years in prison, fined her Dhs20,000, and deported her from the UAE after serving her sentence.

The details of the case dates back to last July, after information was received by the Dubai Police that the woman used narcotic drugs and possessed a quantity of it inside her home in Al Rigga area.
She spoke and showed signs of drug abuse, and a search of her home found a transparent plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance weighing 70 grams of the narcotic methamphetamine.
