His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Friday met with Ingrida Simonyte, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, during his visit to the Lithuanian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed exchanged cordial conversations with Simonyte about the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to advance economic relations towards a new stage that achieves the interests of the two countries and their development aspirations in various fields of common interest, foremost of which are the sectors of advanced technology, innovation, and renewable energy.
The Prime Minister of the UAE and Lithuania inspected the pavilion located in the Sustainability Zone, which provides an integrated idea of the latest technological advancements in which Lithuania excels.
Lithuania is famous for being the greenest country in Europe, where green spaces cover 46 per cent of its territory, while forests cover a third of the country’s area with 6000 lakes scattered throughout, and the 90 km coastline on the Baltic Sea is a real treasure.
Sweden Pavilion
Sheikh Mohammed also visited the Swedish pavilion participating in Expo 2020 Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his full appreciation for the elements he witnessed during the visit of Swedish pavilion, culture and knowledge, and hoped that this distinguished participation in Expo 2020 Dubai will be a prelude to a new phase of economic and cultural rapprochement between the United Arab Emirates and Sweden.
