The Sharjah Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team (SECDMT) on Wednesday announced the reopening of all women’s prayer halls in the emirate’s mosques in co-ordination with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs.
The SECDMT also approved the reopening of washrooms and ablution spaces as well.
This comes in line with the UAE’s directions to gradually return to normal life as per the highest safety standards for individuals following the successful response to the pandemic.
The SECDMT stressed the need to adhere to all precautionary and preventive measures, wear masks, sanitise continuously and observe physical distancing to ensure full recovery and safe and sustainable openness.
Even though mosques across the UAE reopened with coronavirus safety protocols in July 2020, women’s prayer halls remained closed.
