VIDEO: Sharjah motorists face massive traffic jams near Al Khan, Al Taawun areas after midnight

Cars move at a slow pace on Al Khan Bridge in Sharjah on Monday night.

Huge tailbacks snaked across the roads of Sharjah well after midnight on Monday.
Hundreds of vehicles were caught in the traffic snarls that stretched from Al Khan all the way to the Industrial Area.
The gridlock hit even other areas such as Al Taawun Road.
Not surprisingly, this piqued motorists who constantly kept blaring their horns to vent their exasperation.
Some motorists were stuck in the traffic for more than two hours.
The cause of the jams is not known.
Sharjah Police patrols were seen controlling the flow of traffic to ensure no accidents take place.
Motorists are advised to follow traffic rules and check for traffic updates before leaving their homes.
