Indian girl sets fastest reader record in UAE

Nuwa Al Jafri, a young girl aged 4, has just achieved a milestone of reading maximum books in a record time and found her name in the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Record.

The Indian expat girl, a student of Amity School Dubai, has entered both the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records titles (record set @ age 3yrs and 11 months) for the most kids’ storybooks (67) read in under 30 minutes.

Abe Sabreen, mother of Nuwa told the Gulf Today that her daughter Nuwa and son Nuhman Al Jafri have ‘most reading books’ records and made them proud UAE residents.

“My son Nuhman Al Jafri, aged 14, studying in The Millennium School Dubai, has set an India Book of Records record title for the fastest time taken to recite the 99 Names of Allah (Asma ul Husna’),” she said

Abe and Noor ul Jafri, Indian expats and residents of Al Nahda, Dubai are proud parents of two record holders in their house. Their children are Nuhman Al Jafri, 14 years old, Nuaym Al Jafri, 13 years old and Nuwa Al Jafri, 4 years old.

Nuwa has just turned four and is studying in Amity School Dubai in pre-kindergarten level.

“She (Nuwa) started reading at the age of two year and already identify the alphabets and phonic sounds. She started reading sight words, digraph and blending words then gradually went ahead reading story books,” her mother told.

The parents also said, “When we found that she can read faster, we encouraged her to practise with lot of books. We searched for similar records and found out that she was much ahead of present record holder.”

It is also mentioned that the actual attempt was for reading 60 books in record time while she completed 67 books.

Her dream is to become pilot. She loves story books as she reads posters, subtitles in cartoon and so on.

“We will be happy to support her for her next attempt to be part of the Guinness Books of Records,” her mother said.
