Ajman Police officer risks life to rescue man from drowning at sea

The General Headquarters of Ajman Police honoured a police officer from the Special Tasks Department for rescuing an Arab from drowning in the Ajman Sea.

He provided him with the first aid on the spot.

Brigadier Mohammad Shaiban Suwaidan, Director of Human Resources Department, in the presence of Major Mohammad Hussain Al Shamsi, Head of the Special Tasks Department, honoured the police officer Ahmed Mohammad Al Ghafli in appreciation of his heroic role in rescuing the person from drowning.

Others were also honoured including Assistant Ahmed Abdullah Al Amiri, Sergeant Ali Mohammad Al Madhani, and Corporal Abdul Rahman Al Blushi.

This comes within the framework of honouring distinguished performers of their duties and in appreciation of their responsibility and interest in community issues.

In the details, Al Ghafli, who was on duty in a regular tour of the special tasks patrol, hurried towards the sea when one of the beach goers called for help to rescue a man who was drowning.

He found that the man was unconscious and his heart stopped beating, so he provided him with first aid and continued to revive him until the ambulance arrived, and he was transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital.

The rescued man expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ajman Police, stressing that what the police officer did was a heroic act that stemmed from his sense of patriotism and responsibility towards members of society and their safety, wishing Ajman Police and its chief continued success.
