Al Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, has unveiled a full-size version of the Land Cruiser 300 made of Lego parts, in a move aimed at immortalizing the latest version of the car that has achieved legendary status among car enthusiasts in the UAE.
The artwork is on display at The Dubai Mall from Nov.15 to Dec.15.
Commissioned by Al-Futtaim Toyota, this version is one of the largest ever Lego models in the UAE, with more than 440,000 pieces of Lego used to make a Land Cruiser that weighs approximately 2,050kg the size and weight of the real car.
The LEGO replica mirrors the dimensions of the actual vehicle, with both vehicles measuring 194.9 inches long and 74 inches wide. A team of 12 people worked on developing and building the LEGO version of the Land Cruiser and it was completed in 2,688 hours.
Andy Barratt, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Toyota and Al-Futtaim Lexus, said: “At Al-Futtaim Toyota we pride ourselves on always exceeding our customers' expectations, whether through the distinctive products we launch, or by discovering new and unique ways to stay close to them. We hope that designing the LEGO version of Toyota Land Cruiser will bring out the inner child in all of us, and delight loyal Land Cruiser and LEGO fans across the UAE.”
Toyota Land Cruiser has maintained its position among customers since its launch in 1951, as the vehicle that symbolizes Toyota's quality, durability and reliability.
Seventy years after its launch, Al-Futtaim Toyota last June presented a long-awaited development with improvements to the platform and powertrain to suit SUV owners.
