The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has clarified that the fact that 100% of UAE’s eligible population has got at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t mean that all residents are vaccinated.
“There is a changing group of the population, which is the category of residents and holders of new work visas, who will be followed up and ensure that they receive doses of the COVID-19 vaccine according to the medical procedures approved in the country,” the official explains.
The official further said that in addition to new work visa holders, there is a percentage of children and school students who have not yet received the vaccine and are being vaccinated.
“We know that there is a very small percentage of the groups excluded from the vaccine for medical reasons,” official said.
"National efforts in all governmental, local and private sectors are continuing to provide a healthy and protective environment for members of society, as the authorities work through specialized teams and qualified human cadres to ensure health stability for all segments of society, including citizens, residents and visitors of the country," official concluded.
