Heavy rain of different intensity and hail fell on separate areas across the UAE on Monday.
Light rain began falling at 12:30pm on Al Tawyeen and Wadi Al Fay in Fujairah, while moderate rains fell on the Dibba-Al-Tawyeen road and heavy rain on Ghob in Fujairah, Masafi-Dibba Road, Khorfakkan, Rafisah Dam and Kalba in Sharjah and Dafta in Ras Al Khaimah.
Heavy rains fell also on Al Qarya and Al Soudah and heavy rains with hail on Mirbah in Fujairah.
The lowest temperature of 11 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 06:15am, while the highest temperature of 30.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Al Tawyeen in Fujairah at 13:30.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to exercise extreme caution during heavy rains and strong winds blowing on some eastern and northern areas, which might lead to low horizontal visibility. It also advised the public to stay away from flooded valleys.
The weather on Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy in general and cloudy sometimes with rains over some areas, particularly the eastern and northern ones, the NCM said. Light to moderate, dust-stirring north-westerly to north-easterly winds will blow at 15-25 and up to 40 km/h, it added, noting that the sea will have moderate waves, turning into rough sometimes, particularly on the Arabia Gulf the Sea of Oman.
Wednesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general with the possibility of light rain falling on some eastern areas, the coasts and the sea during the day, The NCM said. It will be humid at night and on Thursday morning with the possibility of fog or light fog forming over some western areas, it added, noting that light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning into strong sometimes.
Thursday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy in general and humid at night and on Friday morning with the possibility of fog or light fog forming over some western areas, the NCM said. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly winds will blow on the country, it added, noting that the sea will have light waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
