UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan along with an Emirati delegation arrived in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi received Sheikh Tahnoun at his residence.
The UAE delegation received the invitation of Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council for the official visit.

It is the first visit of an official from the UAE to Iran in many years.
Sheikh Tahnoun discussed the latest development and reinforcement of bilateral relations across various sectors.
Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, the Diplomatic Advisor to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said on Twitter, “The visit of Tahnoon Bin Zayed to Tehran is a continuation of the UAE's efforts aimed at strengthening bridges of communication and cooperation in the region and in a manner that serves the national interest.
“The UAE seeks to enhance regional stability and prosperity by developing positive relations through dialogue and building on the common.”
