The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced the development of the services of cancelling and renewing the residency of the domestic workers and registering complaints about their absence from work. The development is embodied in abbreviating the steps to perform these services, according to MOHRE.
The MOHRE’s Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Worker Affairs, Khalil Khoury, affirmed the ministry's keenness to provide the services of the domestic workers in the easiest way suiting the employers’ expectations and achieving their gladness.
Khoury pointed out that the development of three mentioned services comes within the first phase of a plan carried out by the ministry to develop all 18 services of the domestic workers.
According to MOHRE, the employer can perform any of the three services via the smart app of the ministry, with no need to enter the user name and password. The employer starts with entering his ID number, birth date, the verification code in the image which appears on the screen of the app. He then will receive an SMS with a verification a code on the mobile number registered with the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security.
After entering the verification code, the employer then selects the needed worker to perform the service on his file, enters the necessary data and finally pays the fees.
The transaction will then be sent to the authority for processing, and an email will be sent to the employer with the payment receipt and a copy of the attested contract (if renewing the residency of the domestic worker) .
It is noteworthy that MOHRE provides 18 services to employers planning to recruit domestic workers, which are available on MOHRE’s smart app available on Google Play, Apple Store and the MOHRE’s website: www.mohre.gov.ae or the employer can contact the call centre on the toll-free number 80060.
