His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, said that 1,000 jobs are available this year within the budget of government departments, while 3,000 expatriates at Sharjah Police will be substituted with Emiratis.
“As many as 1,000 jobs are available this year within the budget of government departments, and we are working on finding new jobs in other channels,” Sheikh Sultan explained via the Direct Line Programme.
“Some 3,000 expatriates at Sharjah Police will be substituted with Emiratis. We have started to recruit people to these jobs, which are civil jobs, and more expatriates will be substituted with Emiratis in other departments soon,” he added.
Work in Khorfakkan University would be completed in the middle of this year, while Kalba University would be opened in 2023, he said, adding that many economic, investment and tourism projects would be carried out in various cities of the emirate.
Due attention would be paid to improving the pensions of Sharjah non-local retirees, these being the 500 families with deceased breadwinners, he said, adding that this file would be included in this year’s budget.
As for the bedridden category, which included 500 people, they were covered by healthcare and social service and there is a proposal to support them financially, he said.
For families whose breadwinners can possibly find jobs, great efforts are being exerted to find jobs for them, he added.
