Different rains with lightning and thunder lashed separate parts of the country on Tuesday due to being affected by a state of instability, as the high depression from the west deepened and drew closer, accompanied by an extended surface depression from the south.
Clouds from the Red Sea continued to form and the depressions are expected to move towards the east on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), moderate rains started to fall at 12pm on Al Shawka in Ras Al Khaimah, Tariff in Al Dhafra area, Al Reef, Al Falah, Al Shawamekh, Bani Yas Mussafah and some areas of Abu Dhabi. These rains also lashed Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Airport road.
Heavy rains with lightning and thunder hit Al Madam in Sharjah, while moderate rains hit Expo Dubai 2020, Jabal Ali in Dubai, Fujairah Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Maktoum Airport and other areas of the country.
Jebel Jais in RAK recorded the lowest temperature, 5.4°C, for the third day respectively, at 6:15 am on Tuesday.
The NCM advised to take caution while driving with the lack of horizontal visibility due to rains and dust stirring winds. It also advised to keep away from the places of water gathering and valleys.
The Centre expected the Wednesday weather to be partly cloudy in general and sometimes dusty, with the possibility of light rains on some coastal areas and islands.
According to the Centre, winds will be moderate and Northwest, sometimes strong, active and dust stirring, resulting in low horizontal visibility, with a speed between 25 to 35 amounting to 60 kilometres/hour.
The sea is expected to be turbulent to turmoil in the Arabian Gulf and turbulent in the Sea of Oman.
