Cloudy weather, fog forecast for next week in UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expected the weather to be clear to partly cloudy as of Monday until next Thursday, with chances of fog formation in different areas of the country, accompanied by a rise in temperatures. This is because the country has been affected by a weak surface air depression from the east and an high air extension from west, accompanied by a high air extension in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The NCM indicated that the weather on Monday will be generally clear and partly cloudy at times, and humid on Tuesday nights and morning, with a chance of fog or light fog formation over some internal and coastal areas.

Winds are expected to be northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, at a speed of 10 to 20kph, amounting to 35km, reported the NCM.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

According to the NCM, the weather on Tuesday and Wednesday will be clear in general and partly cloudy at times, with a rise in temperature of two degrees compared to Saturday, and humid at night with a chance of fog or light fog formation over some internal and coastal areas. 

Winds will be northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, active at times on the sea, at a speed of 10 to 20, amounting to 35kph, said the NCM.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.

Thursday’s weather, according to the NCM, will be clear in general and partly cloudy at times, and humid at night and Friday morning, with a chance of fog or light fog formation over some internal and coastal areas. Friday winds will be southeasterly, turning to northwesterly, light to moderate, sometimes active on the sea, at a speed of 15-25kph, amounting to 35kph.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.

Last week, separate areas of the country witnessed light to heavy rainfall, as result of an extension of surface low-pressure system from the west, accompanied with an extension of an upper air trough of low pressure, which may continue until Wednesday.

Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah recorded the country’s lowest temperature, which was 7.1ºC at 3:15 am on Sunday.
