The air wing’s helicopter at the Dubai Police in cooperation with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services transferred a seriously wounded German man to Rashid Hospital, after he had a motorcycle accident in a sandy area in Margham. Colonel Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Director of the Dubai Air Wing, said that the command and control centre at the Dubai Police was alerted about an accident in which a motorbike flipped over in a sandy area.
The accident caused critical injuries to a German citizen in his 50s, who was in need for urgent treatment. Regular ambulance cannot reach the spot, where the accident took place, Al Mazrouei said. Accordingly, an air ambulance was dispatched from the Dubai Police’ air wing to the location of the accident, where the injured person was airlifted and transferred to hospital, he added.
Al Mazroui confirmed that the air wing crew is on alert 24/7 to deal with all emergency communications and to meet appeal for various tasks, including the research and rescue missions for those who get lost, stranded and injured in desert or mountainous areas, to ensure safety of community members.
