Light to medium rains lashed separate areas of the UAE on Sunday as a result of shallow air depression in the north and east and a high air extension in the west, accompanied by an extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Various regions also witnessed a decrease in temperatures by 4°C, as it reached 24°C on Saturday, and on Sunday it reached 20°C.
On Sunday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) recorded the lowest temperature, 8.6 °C in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 6:45am.
NCM expects Monday weather to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of light to medium rains at times over some coastal, northern and eastern areas during the day, and humid at night and Tuesday morning on some coastal and inland areas with a chance of fog or light fog formation especially in the west.
Winds on Monday will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, active at times, especially on the sea during the day, with speeds ranging between 15 to 25, reaching 40kph.
The sea is expected to be turbulent, becoming moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
NCM indicated that Tuesday's weather will be clear to partly cloudy in general, with a noticeable rise in temperatures, and humid on Wednesday night and morning with a chance of fog or light fog formation over some coastal and inland areas.
On Tuesday, winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, speeding from 10 to 20, reaching 30kph.
The sea will be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
Last month, the UAE experienced strong northwesterly to westerly winds, at a speed of 60kph, especially in the open areas and sea shores.
The winds were dust stirring and resulted in a decrease in horizontal visibility to less than 300 metres at times over the open areas, especially the north and east.
The sudden change in the weather led to the drop in temperature across the country.
Jebel Jais recorded the lowest temperature of 1.7°C.
Road users and motorists were recommended to exercise precautions and abide by traffic instructions, due to the low to very low horizontal visibility in different areas across the country.
