His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Thursday opened Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS) in the Central Region, on Sharjah-Maliha Road.
This was in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria, Australia.
Sheikh Sultan toured the school’s building, which includes a section for kindergarten, a section for classrooms for the grades (2 to 6), administration facilities, a stage, other classrooms and various facilities for activities, sports and entertainment, among others.
VISS is keen on providing an appropriate educational atmosphere for students at various stages, in a way that achieves its objectives to provide advanced scientific services. At the end of the tour, Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the engineering plans for the various stages of expansion of VISS in the Central Region, in which the project will be completed and a number of other branches of the school will be established in the Eastern Region.
His Highness received a commemorative shield from Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria at the end of the visit. Present were Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Seaports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, and Sheikh Mohammad Bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, along with heads of government departments, officials and educators.
