Sheikh Sultan covers costs of study of Emirati female student

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has covered the cost of study, living and monthly expenses for an Emirati female university student called Mariam.

Mariam is studying Global Engineering for Development Environment and Society in Japan.

Sheikh Sultan’s immediate response followed a call from the student to the Direct Line programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV, in which she said that she had obtained admission from one of the most reputable global universities in Japan to study for a master’s degree in it.

She added that she applied to the Ministry of Higher Education for a scholarship but its response was relatively late, noting that she could wait no longer to start her study. Based on this, Sheikh Sultan approved to cover the entire costs of her study at the expense of the Emiri Court.
