The Sharjah Committee for National Day Celebrations met on Monday (March 21) at Sharjah Sheraton to review its activities and performance. The meeting was attended by Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and Chairman of the Committee, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of Sharjah Government Media Bureau and Vice Chairman of the Committee, and other members of the Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Midfa thanked the Sharjah Executive Council, headed by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for its generous support to the 50th UAE National Day celebrations in the Emirate.
He also lauded the vital role played by the members of the Committee and municipal councils in the emirate in ensuring the success of the events held across Sharjah.

Al Midfa commended the Sharjah Committee for National Day Celebrations’ relentless efforts and work mechanism in order to develop a distinguished programme that included an extensive schedule of exciting events, interactive activities and competitions spanning over 11 days and attracting huge involvement of various sections of society. He also praised the unified media identity and extensive coverage of the celebrations of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He also lauded the vital role played by the members of the Committee and municipal councils in the emirate in ensuring the success of the events held across Sharjah.
Al Midfa stressed that the 50th National Day celebrations across the Emirate of Sharjah featuring as many as 132 events shed light on the extraordinary achievements, history and heritage of the UAE, and were spread across all parts of the Emirate.
The celebrations featured the prominent tourist destinations in the emirate such as the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, Sharjah National Park, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Al Hosn Island in Dibba Al Hisn, Al Madam Municipality in Al Madam District, Heritage Village in Hamriyah, Beach Park in Kalba, and Heritage Village in Al Dhaid among others.
On this occasion, the committee also discussed a number of new proposals and ideas for the 51st National Day celebrations, vowing to start working on the event plan, to be completed by the beginning of May, and its implementation by the relevant committees in coordination with the municipal councils, relevant authorities and other stakeholders.
