The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 321,784 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours and detected 341 new coronavirus cases.
All the tests were conducted using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment. The new cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 889,793.
"All the infected individuals belong to various nationalities and are in a stable condition after receiving the necessary care," according to a statement by the ministry.
The total number of deaths in the country remained 2,302 as ministry reported no new death.
The Ministry also noted that an additional 834 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 863,564.
The Ministry also announced that 8,405 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.
The total number of doses provided up to Saturday stands at 24,471,959 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 247.43 doses per 100 people.
In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.
