Different segments of the Pakistani community residing in the UAE have taken part in the various events to celebrate the country’s 82nd Pakistan Day celebrations.
In Dubai, on the occasion of Pakistan Day’s celebrations, WOW, (Women of Wisdom) a group of women based in Dubai, organised a unique event to recognise the role of women in the Pakistan Movement and pay tribute to the eminent women of Pakistan Movement.
The event was held at Pakistan Association Dubai, where prominent women of Tehreek-e-Pakistan (Pakistan Movement) spoke about their services and selfless efforts that contributed to the creation of Pakistan.
The event was attended by a large number of women member of the community from different walks of life and showed their support and patriotism.
The special guest of the evening was Shazia Siraj, Press Counsel at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai and Northern Emirates. In her speech, she emphasised the role of women in establishing Pakistan. The distinguished scholar said that women are essential to a country’s success. She thanked Farzana Mansoor and Sarwat Zahra Zaidi, the founders of WOW Group, and congratulated them on a successful evening.
The function was conducted by Sadia Tariq and highlighted the role of prominent women of Tehreek-e-Pakistan and expressed her gratitude towards the participants for their contributions to the noble cause.
Samina Nasir paid a beautiful tribute to all the women and prayed for the welfare of Pakistan.
Najmi Musrat’s rendition of Noor Jahan’s melodious songs warmed the hearts of the audience. Following the cake-cutting ceremony, special prayers were offered for Pakistan’s security and prosperity. Following the ceremony, guests were served with cakes and tea.
Farzana Mansoor and Sarwat Zahra Zaidi from the WOW group lauded the participants for the attending the event to celebrate the country’s national day in their own way.
However, a large number of community members from different segments of society also participated in a similar programme held at Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah (PSCJ).
The office-bearers in the presence of the community members highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day and vowed to do whatever needed to make Pakistan a developed country in the world.
