The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, in collaboration with Department of Health - Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, has approved precautionary measures for the Holy Month of Ramadan, covering religious and social activities, to protect public health and the safety of all community members.
The Committee urged the public to abide by the general precautionary and preventative measures, which are mandatory wearing of facemasks when indoors, regularly washing and sanitising hands, observing social distancing, and frequently sanitising surfaces and equipment.
The Committee said that Only permitted government and licensed entities are allowed to have Ramadan tents, stressing the need to stick to the measures relating to religious practices and activities, including observe social distancing, wearing facemask and using personal prayer mat at mosque, wearing suitable safety equipment when distributing Ramadan meals, using electronic payment methods where possible for donations and gifts, and COVID-19 patients should consult a doctor before fasting.
As for the measures relating to social activities, the committee called on members of the society to use digital platforms to send greetings where possible, group Iftar and Suhur gatherings advised to be limited to family members that live in the same house, take extra consideration of high-risk people at public and family gatherings, and observe event-specific precautions when attending markets.
Separately, Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate, Pure Health, the largest integrated healthcare platform in the UAE, and G42 Healthcare, Abu Dhabi based leading health tech company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Centre of Digital Health (CDH) in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The centre seeks to develop robust data platforms and accelerate digital services that elevate the healthcare sector, thereby reiterating the emirate’s position as a leading digital healthcare destination.
