His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, mourned the death of Easa Saleh Al Gurg, the first Emirati banker.
Sheikh Mohammed tweeted on Thursday, "Our condolences to the family of Easa Saleh Al Gurg, and to the community of Dubai and the UAE community on the death of the first Emirati banker, one of the faces of the Emirati diplomacy, one of the most important men of our national economy, and one of the owners of charitable and humanitarian organisations in the UAE. May God have mercy on him and put him in peace. “To Allah we belong and to Him is our return".
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, mourned Easa Al Gurg on Twitter, saying: "May God have mercy on Easa Saleh Al Gurg, a charitable and humanitarian businessman, a prominent Emirati figure who left clear imprints in the banking sector and diplomatic work... Our condolences to the family of the deceased.
"May Allah have mercy on him and place him into paradise".
