Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a party organising company to return Dhs12,000 to a woman, the remaining amount of what she paid to the company to organise her brother’s wedding.
The party was cancelled due to the death of a relative of the groom.
Details of the case dates back to an earlier time, when the woman filed a lawsuit demanding that the company pay her Dhs12,000 besides the fees and expenses of the case.
The plaintiff explained that she had agreed with the company to organise her brother's wedding in return for Dhs21,000 of which she already paid Dhs14,000.
However, due to the death of a relative, she agreed with the company to terminate the contract.
She noted that the company returned her Dhs2,000 and delayed refunding the rest of the amount.
The plaintiff attached with the lawsuit papers two invoices issued by the company, indicating that the dispute had been presented before the Conciliation and Reconciliation Committee.
The court obligated the company to return Dhs12,000 to the plaintiff.
