VIDEO: Dubai Police rescue British father, daughter from Hatta mountains

Hatta Police Station, in cooperation with the Dubai Police Air Wing, recently rescued a Briton and his daughter after they got lost on top of a mountain while hiking in Hatta. The duo were absolutely exhausted and could not complete the trip. Colonel Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Hatta Police Station, said that a British woman submitted a report through the Smart Police Station (SPS) in Hatta, requesting police assistance to find her husband and daughter after they went off-trail while hiking in the mountainous area.

"She said that her husband and daughter were neither able to determine their location nor continue walking," he continued. Col. Al Ketbi pointed out that once they received the report from the SPS in Hatta, the mountain rescue team, "Brave Team", and the duty officer rushed to the area and started search operations.

"The Brave Team managed to locate the man and daughter in-distress and ensure they are in safe and stable condition," he added. Colonel Abdullah Rashid Al-Hafeet, Deputy Director of the Hatta Police Station, explained that the father and daughter were fatigued and unable to continue walking, which necessitated air rescue assistance to get them out of the mountainous trail.

"However, due to high rugged terrain whenever the helicopter approached, rescue patrols had to assist the father and daughter reach the top of the mountain so the Air Wing could rescue them and take them to hospital," he added. The Director of Hatta Police Station confirmed that the Station was ready to professionally respond to all emergency reports, whether in mountainous areas, valleys or other terrain.

He urged the public to follow safety measures and adhere to mountain hiking and walking trails to ensure their safety at all times. Col. Al Ketbi also urged community members to call the Dubai Police Command and Control Center on 999 for emergency cases and provide an accurate location to facilitate the rescue process of those in need. He further explained that the Smart Police Station (SPS) in Hatta provides policing services to the public 24/7 without human intervention in seven different languages.
